The gift of the Deciduous

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore, the Lord himself will give you[c] a sign: The virgin[d] will conceive and give birth to a son, and[e] will call him Immanuel.[f]

Deciduous Trees, otherwise known as Evergreens, decorate our homes and churches during Christmas. The Evergreen is an incredible gift from God, especially for those who experience months of snow, cold, and otherwise barren environments. The Evergreen remains unchanged through the seasons, inspiring hope that there is life amid barrenness, strength to persevere, and shelter or refuge from storms that threaten to cover you. As you look at the green boughs on a Christmas wreath or a garland, be reminded that all hope begins as a seed of promise. A promise, like God’s promise of his Son and his eternal reign, that grows and flourishes and remains full of life through every season.

Isaiah 55:11

so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty,

but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
